Red Tartan is a company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. 

 

We produce shortbread cookies, traditional, gluten free, vegan, sugar free, vegan and gluten free and also Zero (no dairy, no gluten, no sugar).

 

We create marvelous shortbread cookies, using the most elemental raw materials, just with dedication, patience and tons of love, in order to provide satisfaction to our customers, as much as we can. At the end of the day, life is about small details, and these small shortbread cookies are real artists creating delightful moments to the adventurous human beings that decide to try them. Be one of them and enter in a little oasis of a delicacy melting in your mouth. You will never forget such a great moment and you will make us feel really good. Helping other's happiness is one of our major goals.

Pamela Melnuk-Hartman is the creator of Red Tartanand she began sharing her heritage shortbread récipe with her delighted customers in 2017. Pam was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and has the local spirit very deep in her mind and heart. After a long time developing her nursing career, growing her family and later, living in Europe and Mexico, Pam returned to Canada where she decided to make and sell her artisan shortbread using her Scottish grandmother’s recipe and traditional methods.

Pam embodies the can-do spirit of Calgary, which she has carried with her on her many World travels and adventures.

 

The Red Tartan concept was created to share shortbread made using a family recipe that has been passed on through several  generations to the Red Tartan owners.

These cookies are made using an original recipe handed down from the direct Scottish ancestors of the Red Tartan owner. You will quickly discover the difference in taste from shortbread that uses industrial methods.

One it is never enough.

Each cookie is completely hand made and the process is fully artisan. We don't use any chemical products, only natural raw materials: butter or vegan margarine, flour (wheat or rice plus gluten free oat), corn starch and icing sugar or sweetener.

We try to use environmental friendly packaging as much as we can in order to reduce our negative impact on the environment, and the waste we produce is 100% biodegradable.

Despite the fact being a very young company, we try and are contributing to the society by donating when we are able for that, so far to The Mustard Seed and Be Well.
